We Serve
Our Mission is
To enjoy fun and friendship with like-minded individuals,
whilst serving the needs of our local Community and the wider world
Originally formed in 1977, Pontefract was the first Lioness Club in the United Kingdom and today is one of more than 20 Clubs throughout the Country - MD105 Lionesses website.
Locally we hold a number of fundraising events throughout the year to help those less fortunate than ourselves in the local, national and international community and we work closely with our local Lions on bigger projects within the area.
As an organisation Lionesses are proud to say that every penny raised from the public goes directly to charity. Members of each Club pay a nominal fee each year which is divided between the Club and the Multiple District Advisory Body (the National overseeing Committee) to cover all the running costs.
Whilst our primary aim is to help others, being a member of a Lioness Club offers much more:
It opens up new doors to a network of friends (locally, nationally and internationally)
Gives you the opportunity to learn from new experiences
Allows you to be involved in making an impact at home and around the world
Commitment is as much or as little as you can give - everyone has something to offer!
